Divine Chocolate: The Guru Parampara

A miracle is not always an obvious miracle.

People have a tendency, I believe, to think of miracles only in terms of experiencing a physical, tangible, visible result.

Sometimes a miracle, though experienced first through the physical eyes and the human mind, is an internal, private experience of the heart, or the soul. Often it's an event you don't even understand in the moment, but only later, after a period of reflection.

dancing on the volcano

mostly I feel that no matter what we're all doing these days, it's dancing on the volcano.

the whole illusion world seems more and more to be just that -- pure illusion. and temporary. what happened to New Orleans taught me a lot about the temporariness, the fragile temporariness, of all the simple things that people hold dear.

I look around my home, I look around downtown Santa Cruz (I'm often out in the cafes!), I look around these incredible redwood forests near Boulder Creek, and all I can think about is 'how long will this last?'

and inside, my inner conviction is -- not very long. (despite humanity's endless capacity for denial and rationalization.)

that upheaval is coming, and soon, and it will be huge and fierce.

many spiritual masters are talking like this, these days, and I'm quite certain it's coming.

so -- precarious -- making hay while the sun shines, and enjoying the calm before the storm.
