Om Sai Sri Sai Jai Jai Sai
it's been too long since I've written anything here...! things have been hectic, what with whirlwind visits to India, a full teaching schedule at the UCBK temple, kirtans, the weekly homeless/needy free lunch program -- and now Baba has come into the temple!
YES, the living murthi of the Big Boss, Shirdi Sai Baba, has finally come home to stay. he's about 3 and 1/2 feet tall, carved from basalt in India, weighing in at 350 pounds... and he's sitting in a beautiful lotus flower base (created from a combination of granite and cement by a local Santa Cruz sculptor).
this photo is from his celebration day... huge rose malas, fire homa at his feet, a formal abishek (bath) and a sweet day spent telling Baba stories, of the miracles he performed, the yogas he demonstrated, his temperament, his nature, his shakti and his greatness as a beggar-saint in the streets of Shirdi, in India.
it's a huge honor and a responsibility to have him here, finally installed in his proper place, watching over all of us and the whole area from his granite pedestal.
Jai Guru Datta!
